Portraits of my friends Chiidren

This is a Post of some of the portraits of children of my friends. THe whole access thing is becoming a joke. I can understand the idea based around exploitation but people have become so inverted that it’s hard to know what to say. seb-1 Some of my favourite and happiest images are seeing the comical reactions that we all make and od as children. It’s a wonderment we would ever want to grow up. But we all rush towards it. Embracing the new experience with the new realities.

This is the first exhibition that I put on around this time last year. I had a nice Gallery space in the restaurant I worked in and the manager was interested in starting a monthly regime. It was a really nice first exhibition. A real sense of mystery about it. When you take a picture you like and then work with it to get it right they’re a bond. What ever relationship it is becomes an interesting detachment when it on the wall for all to see.

I like landscape and find it an intriguing place to photograph. Just to get away from hustle and bustle. There’s an interesting article I must photocopy for anyone interested called Landscape and theMarlboro Man I think!!

Sixteen Sites of Sick

Posted in Sixteen sites of Sick on March 11, 2009 by damiendempsey

This is a project I had great fun with last year. I really enjoyed getting up in the morning and taking a walk along the pavements of the towns and cities. Although my research only stretches so far as to the passing traveller whom I meet. The amount of vommit that is evident on the streets of Ireland and the UK is more so than that of other places in Europe. I found it easiest to find these on a walk sometimes a lucky few in one visit.

I find something interesting  as a social science of us as a educated existinal society. It was also an excercise in Colour that we had to do. I made a hand made book to go with it aswell, great fun trying to bound that!!!

sick 2

I was using a twin lenses Reflex camera and it was great fun. Hard at times, because of the angle and tryin to judge the distance. I wanted it to look forensic scene style. I used labels attached to the hand prints on foam board dating the time i found the scene, the place and the date. It gave a question of Identity and they’re were claims by some “That once is mine”.

With just the pavement and adjoining wall to use as a canvas so to speak, the colours give a contrasting view against the dull pavements of our streets. I referenced them in my own similiarity to that of Jackson Pollock. His spontanouity was splashed accross the canvas just as the contribuators of my evidence.

The smell woudl get to you sometimes and the questioning of trying to work out the concocations that had caused the errutption. sick-5

Some are just plain daft to introduce as any defined imagery and yet still hold some thing as a existinal value to me
The Weir

Not sure if I would Title this or some of the  pictures that I like to take.

None

Taken in a mode of atmosphere more than anything.

Certain Images can take a surreal mind over the matter sense in the way it becomes a personal Statement.
